Calling all Waimairi Senior Competitors!! In 2007 we held an extremely successful pre-season training weekend at O'Kains Bay for senior competitors.

If you are planning on competing in the 2009/2010 season then this is a must for you!!

The weekend is aimed at existing and new U16, U19 and Open competitors - canoe, ski, board. We will be looking at canoe crews combinations, ski and board training, fitness and beach events.

Refreshers will also be done for those who miss out on registration day.

We can take up to 40. At this stage the house has been booked for both the Fri and Sat nights, although people can come over on the Sat morning if that suits. The house sleeps 15 (beds allocated on first paid basis) and there is plenty of tent space.

The club will provide breakfast, lunch and dinner on the Saturday, and breakfast and lunch on the Sunday. The gear will all be transported over and there will be limited space available for a lift.

You need to provide your own bedding, tent, snacks, transport there and back.

No need to pay at this stage but please register your interest by emailing Michelle Moyle at or calling me on 3578997 or txt 021 2626981.

Let me know if you would be coming for 1 night or 2, and if you can help out in any way.

A message here from Craig Herring, all those who want to do their drivers this season need to make themselves known to Craig, ASAP. Training will be starting soon. Note you must be 16, or turning 16 this season to be eligible to sit your drivers.

Has anyone seen the VHF radios, and hand held walkie talkies? They have gone missing from the clubrooms, since the end of last season. Anyone who has any idea where they could possibly be please contact a member of the club committee ASAP, they are a indispensible asset to our patrols!
